Ueda/rinaldo duo

The Lisa Ueda/Daniele Rinaldo Duo joins two prize-winning soloists in a highly successful collaboration. The Duo had a critically acclaimed Japan Tour in January 2016, described as "passionate performers; yet works were polished with much attention to detail, musical shape and structure" (Ongaku-no- Tomo), and had an equally successful Wigmore Hall début in 2015, "this duo is destined for great things" (Musical Opinion).

The Ueda/Rinaldo Duo released its first album in Dec 2017 on the Heritage label, and has since, appeared live on BBC Radio 3.

Formed in 2009 at the Royal Academy of Music in Michael Dussek's chamber music studio, the duo received the prestigious Kirckman Concert Society Award, Tunnell Trust Award, and most recently, the Solti Foundation Scholarship Prize.

Among the high-profile engagements of the duo are the Tunnell Trust concert tour of Scotland, tours of Japan, recitals at Wigmore Hall, St George's Bristol, St Martin-in- the-Fields, the New Generation Series of the Lake District Summer Music Festival, The Forge and St James Piccadilly in London, as well as representing the Royal Academy of Music for the 'Europe Music Schools' Festival in Pisa, Italy.

The Duo’s vast repertoire ranges from the baroque to the modern and contemporary, having given, among others, the world premieres of Robert Matthew-Walker’s 2nd Violin Sonata at the Wigmore Hall (recording released in 2016 by Guild) and Daniele Rinaldo’s violin and piano transcription of Stravinsky’s Three Japanese Lyrics.

"The Janáček Sonata here receives the finest account, on or off a record, I have ever heard.

It is superb, as is the Respighi ... Here is fine artistry from two very gifted musicians.

This is a significant recording debut which deserves wide praise for the artists’ consistent musicianship"
